New baby on the way-Old tent on the way out! Emergency funds needed for Hisham, Bayan and soon to be three children Please don’t ignore
My name is Martina and I live in Ireland.I am opening this campaign for my dearest friend Hisham and his family. Since October7 they have lost everything and almost their lives. This is not a plea for financial stability- this is a cry for help to save our lives in Gaza under Genocide- for food, clean water, medicine and essentials. Our lives are in your hands💔
My name is Hisham. I am an engineer from Gaza and a father.
This is my family:
Rasel is 9 years old. She had to grow up too fast.
Tharaa is 4 years old. My little girl whose laughter once filled our home.
Bayan is my wife. She is pregnant and God willing, we will welcome our new baby in November.
And me. People in my community used to know me as a youth activist and “ the handsome engineer”.
Before the war
I had a home, a farm, and work I was proud of.
I loved being someone who could help others. Whenever a neighbor, friend, or young person needed support, I was there. I volunteered, I shared what I had, and I tried to build something better for the people around me.
Our streets knew our footsteps. Our home knew the voices of our children. Our farm gave us hope for the future.
We did not have a perfect life. But we had safety. And we had laughter.
Then October 7 came
We had to leave everything in Khuz’a, near the border - our home, our farm, our memories.
We left with what we could carry.
We lost loved ones. Relatives, friends, neighbors became photographs on our phones.
We lost the life we knew.
The man who once stood beside others and helped became the one who needed help.
Today
We live in a simple nylon tent in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis.
This tent does not protect us. Winter is coming and winds will cut through it at night. The rain comes in and soaks the ground where my children try to sleep. In the day the sun turns it into an oven and there is nowhere to escape the heat. There is no clean water. There is no proper toilet. There is no heating. There is no privacy and no safety.
We go to sleep hungry. Some nights we have nothing to eat. Some nights we sleep just to forget the hunger for a few hours.
Rasel asks me questions I do not have answers for. Tharaa is 4 and she should be playing, not afraid of the sound of the wind and rain on nylon.
My wife Bayan is pregnant and exhausted. She needs rest, clean water, and medical care that we do not have. I lie awake every night afraid for her and for the baby coming in November.
I am not asking for luxury. I am asking to keep my family alive through winter.
Why I am asking for your help
Every donation will go directly to keeping my family alive:
Food and clean water for Rasel, Tharaa, Bayan and our newborn
Baby supplies for November: nappies, clothes, blankets, milk and formula
Winter essentials: heavy blankets, warm clothes, plastic sheeting and materials to try to make the tent withstand rain and cold
Basic medical care for Bayan and the baby
Even a small amount makes a difference. Food for a day. Medicine for a fever. A blanket for the night.
My request
If you can donate, you will help me feed my children and give them warmth.
If you cannot donate, please share this campaign. Someone in your network may be able to help.
From the heart of Gaza, I reach out to you.
I am not searching for a perfect life.
I am searching for a safe life for my family.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for believing that helping one person can give them a reason to keep going.
With gratitude,
Hisham
Father to Rasel and Tharaa. Husband to Bayan. Former youth activist.
