To fund the purchase of a second hand tank and pump
Wilding Cider is a a small cider grower/maker in N Somerset, run by husband and wife team Sam and Beccy. We grow organic apples in our own orchard and in rented orchards, and make natural cider.
We have found a 2,000 litre tank and a better quality pump second hand at a price we couldn't ignore but can't afford. This is a big step up for us (twice as big as our next largest tank) and it will really help to keep up with demand for our most popular batches. Peppershells, Ditcheat Hill and a forthcoming Home Orchard blend are all ripe for making in larger quantities. The new pump is bigger, faster and all stainless (!) which should mean it lasts a long time without breaking like the procession of average quality pumps we have burnt through.
Anyway, we have bought it already, but it required a rapid loan that now needs quickly repaying. Which is where you come in, as a customer and supporter of our cider making.
The main issue with a young cider business is that cash flow lags behind expenses to a dramatic extent. Most of the costs of production are paid up to two years before the cider is ready to sell, and so as we have grown we are always in the position of having more cider in bottles than money in the bank. What we need is a bunch of you to convert some of that stock into cash, ideally cider you wouldn't have otherwise bought! Stock up for the summer, buy your friends a present, throw a party, treat yourself to a Friday night bottle for six weeks....
We are offering a special case for this moment and we just need 40 of you to buy them. Simple. The beauty of this is that we don't need to pay interest on a bank loan (and pass that on to customers) and we don't need to wait and save up (and miss the chance for secondhand kit). All we need is you to drink and buy a bit more cider than usual.
