We're still collecting donations
On the 27th November 2021 we'd raised £5,031 with 62 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We aim to replace our main operations van recently stolen and have had to suspend most of our operations (including Mexborough Foodbank)

On the 27th November 2021 we'd raised £5,031 with 62 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We will use any additional funds raised to help towards our project costs e.g. vehicle insurance, maintenance, fuel, public liability insurance, volunteer expenses etc
Food AWARE CIC was born in 2008 and our main aims are to divert surplus food away from potential waste and redistribute to local communities across South Yorkshire.
Prior to the Covid pandemic, we supported -around 40 community organisations helping to feed over 1,000 people per week. This figure has quadrupled over the past 20 months and we currently support over 130 community organisations and over 4,000 each week. A number of these community projects are foodbanks, soup kitchens, hot meals provision, healthy refreshments for mother & tots groups etc across networks predominantly in Doncaster and Rotherham areas e.g. Mexborough Foodbank, DN7 Foodbank, Thorne & Moorends Community Foodbank, Edlington Community Organisation, Mustard Seed Playgroup (Mexborough), Maltby Foodbank, Sunnyside Supplies, Swinton Foodbank, BME United Doncaster, Doncaster Street Hub, Food AWARE Community Kitchen, Pioneer Social Enterprise, PFG Doncaster, Freely Given, Given Freely etc.
All of the above community organisations and many more receive free food & other supplies from our Hellaby warehouse in Rotherham each week.
Our projects are run by 20+ volunteers of all ages who give their time freely each week to support people less fortunate.
We also offer a unique and dedicated service to numerous local foodbanks allowing them to order essential food supplies using their own funds from our bulk order suppliers in major supermarkets. These supplies are then delivered to our warehouse and we then deliver directly to each provider.
Without our main operations van, most of the above essential project activities and services have had to be suspended….and just as the winter period is starting….when these essential local grassroots services are most needed.
We will use the funds raised to hopefully replace our refrigerated van and get our essential services back on the road ASAP!
We are anticipating another very harsh and challenging winter period for so many and need to get back on track ASAP to meet the increasing demand for our services.
Thank you for listening and for your support….it is most appreciated.
