We want to build new, better practice nets to help our players improve their cricket - especially our 185 girls and boys aged under 15.

We are a friendly and welcoming village cricket club where people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy playing, watching and volunteering. We have been going for 137 years now, over 120 of them on our lovely Stanners ground at Corbridge. We run 5 senior teams, including two womens' teams, and 5 junior teams including a girls team. We have an extensive coaching programme for our 185 junior players.
Our AllStars Coaching team and our women's softball team all love their cricket.....

Our existing practice nets have served us well but are worn out and need to be replaced.
Our costs are high and getting even higher with big increases in electricity and insurances this year. We could not operate fully during the pandemic so were not able to raise money then. We need to raise extra money to replace the nets and to improve the quality and size. To give our players every opportunity to be the best they can be - especially our junior players.

£80,000 to raise!
The total cost of our project is £80,000 including 3 new nets, and moving and extending our grounds stores. We have £15,000 towards it and plan to raise the rest through crowdfunding, grants, events and if necessary a loan.
What if we don't raise all the money?
We will give it our best shot! If we make the £20,000 crowdfunding target we are confident we can build at least two new high quality nets. If we don't raise all the rest, we can move and extend the grounds store at a later date.
Or stick at 2 rather than 3 nets.
But with your help we can build all 3 and give our young players the quality and space they deserve, to play cricket as well as they can.
Support from Sport England's Active Together Fund
Sport England will contribute £6,000 to our £20,000 target, as long as we raise the other £14,000 ourselves with well over 100 contributors.

3 New High Quality Practice Nets available at all times
We plan to build new outdoor practice nets to replace our worn out nets which are beyond repair. We will build 2, and hope to build 3, nets which will be
The image below shows how the new nets will be located in relation to the existing nets.

Develop Grounds Stores to help Sustainablity
We also hope to move our grounds stores, extending and upgrading them so we can store and recharge environmentally friendly electric grounds maintenance machinery.
We have over 240 active cricket players at the club, from 4 to 75 years old, 185 are under 15 - better facilities will benefit all of them.
We're proud to be part of our local community
As well as cricket, we host
And are the venue for parties, the village apple pressing, and a very successful Charity Cricket Day at August Bank Holiday weekend (pictured).
We are pleased that local companies and voluntary groups enjoy using our site for meetings and training courses.
A meeting place for everyone in our village
We hope we are a place where people from all backgrounds can join together to enjoy sport and socialising, and benefit from being involved as a player, volunteer or spectator.

There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
Help our young players to achieve their full potential, perhaps MOVING FOM THIS...
