Our current net is tired, dated, & not fit for purpose, with increasing demand we would like to provide better facilities for all.

Further improvements to the clubs facilities.
Old Glossop Cricket Club was established in 1901 & have been playing in the local leagues ever since.
We are an established part of the local community & thousands of people of all ages have enjoyed a friendly, welcoming & family oriented environment to play cricket, take part in physical activity fitness sessions and to socialise with friends and family.
The club has gone from strength to strength over the past few years thanks to the tireless efforts of our many volunteers and club committee.
We have a thriving junior section, a women and girls team, a disability programme along with 3 senior mens teams who all compete in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket league.
Our members span all the age groups, from
* Our 5 year-old AllStars to the oldest veterans of the senior teams.
* 125+ junior members, including girls, who play cricket as Under-9s, Under-11s, Under-13s, Under-15s and Under-19s.
* We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI senior teams playing in the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League.
* A squad of enthusiastic women cricketers who play in the High Peak Softball League.
During the summer there is cricket of some form at the Club every day of the week.
We share the values of Birmingham 2022 by bringing people from all backgrounds together for community social events, improve their health and well-being by encouraging them to take part in Cricket and physical activity sessions, and to drive growth and aspiration by upskilling volunteers through various qualifications which will open routes to employment.
We have seen a huge increase in participation and people wanting to play Cricket along with using the facilities at Old Glossop CC.
The current practice facility we have now is tired and dated and is not fit for purpose, this does not meet the increasing demand and is holding back the progress of many young players including women/girls and people with a disability.
There is now a plan in place to raise funds for the purchase and development of new practice facilities: a 2 lane netting area.
This development will allow the Club to offer more on-site practice and playing opportunities, enabling it to meet burgeoning local demand.
The facility would also be offered for use to local schools and community groups including a link with a local disability sports club.
We are committed as a club to be inclusive for all and to get inactive people to become more active, aligning to Sport England and the Derbyshire Cricket Foundations strategy.
OGCC has worked tirelessly to ensure it offers a high quality, inclusive, safe and secure environment and facilities. We recognise that in order to continue to do so this development is very significant to the overall vision.
To make this dream come true we need your support. We are hoping that members of the club, as well as village residents and people from the wider community, will be able to support our fundraising by donating to our project.
However small, any donation you can make will be gratefully received and will help us to reach our target of £20,000, which will contribute massively to the purchase and installation of the new practice facility.
Please take the time to look at our project, hopefully you can donate through this crowdfunding page, and take advantage of the many attractive rewards.
Thank you for your support, everybody in the club is truly appreciative of your help!
