Why are we crowdfunding?
Largo Cricket Club is a much-loved part of the local community, but it desperately needs a new pavilion. The club wants to help more people to play cricket, but doesn’t have the right facilities. We need to raise £50,000 for a new pavilion with accessible toilets and meeting space so even more kids and adults (of any age and ability!) can play cricket in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. Anything you can give to help us will make a big difference - thank you!
How we’ll spend the money raised
Club facilities mean we can’t welcome as many groups as we would like. We do not currently have water connections, so there are no accessible toilet facilities; the pavilion does not have an indoor area for meetings, teas, etc and is not accessible to people with mobility difficulties.
We plan to replace our current pavilion with a modern facility that will include accessible toilets and an accessible indoor meeting space. The money raised will cover all project costs including design, planning and construction.
Community impact
We operate in an area with significant deprivation (Levenmouth). There is limited access for young people to organised sports clubs, without paying significant membership fees (but we charge just £35 for the whole year for kids for training and matches!)
There is a lack of decent facilities that are accessible to people with disabilities. Our plans will plug this gap and widen access to cricket.
How you can play your part
There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
