In 2022 our net suffered terrible damage when a tree fell on it during a severe windstorm. We want to raise money to build a new 2 lane net.
We are a community cricket club in the heart of East Boldon, we have a large number of junior and senior teams alongside a thriving Squash club. We are an integral part of the community and have been around since 1875 providing a high standard of cricket coaching to the local area.

At our friendly little corner of East Boldon, just on the way out of the village, we pride ourselves on an incredible Junior set up which we are constantly trying to build and improve on year after year. Our All Stars group last year totalled close to 50 young players from the age of 5 - 8yrs, who we would be looking to transition into Junior teams, honing the skills they have learned through All Stars and taking that into the junior teams playing all over the North East. It's amazing to see these young players develop their cricket skills and at Boldon CC we want to make sure we are doing everything in our power to help these talented young stars.

At Boldon CC we want to encourage girls and women's cricket and building on the successes of Women's cricket over the last few years especially with the World Cups, Women's Premier League, The Hundred and of course the Women's T20 at the Birmingham commonwealth games in 2022, we really want to have our club as a hub for women's and girls cricket. Having the right facilities to allow our coaches and future coaches to train future international stars is vital. Young girls are seeing the futures they can have, they just need clubs to help them achieve it.
In 2022 our net suffered terrible damage when a tree fell on it during a severe windstorm. This net despite ageing has played a crucial role in the development of our junior and senior setups. Unfortunately Boldon CC has been hampered considerably not only by fierce weather but by the Covid Pandemic and an unprecedented economic climate. We have lost a number of senior players and a whole section of Juniors who were unable to play during this time and struggled to find its feet again. Funds are always stretched for cricket clubs and with funding at an all time low we are no exception. We want to fight back and make sure that we are once again providing exceptional cricket development for the future of our community.

The money raised will go towards a state of the art new enclosed practice net area. This will allow our coaches to carry out training sessions in a safe and inviting environment. This is vital if we want to encourage more junior and seniors from our community to come play cricket and get us back on track with our vision. Our new two lane nets would bring a fantastic opportunity for those in the area of all ages to develop cricket skills but also have a profound positive impact on their mental wellbeing. We are expecting these to cost in the region of £30-40,000, which will include groundworks and two flat wickets with a brand new surface as mocked up in the images below.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! No matter how large or small, every donation will be greatly received and put to such good use for the whole community.
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out! If you would like to get in touch about sponsoring a large amount for the nets and discussing having the nets named after your company, please get in touch.
4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
