Aim

To provide a Multi User Toilet in our local park that is open every day for all park users. Spend a £1 to have a pee !!!

What is the need for your project in the community? How will your project improve local life?

NEED
The need is very simple as there is no such facility in the park at the moment for park users so they will all be delighted with this new facility and especially mothers and toddlers who can then use the toilet and change facilities.

What support do you have from the local community for your project?
COMMUNITY REQUEST
The local community have asked us to provide this facility as have all the clubs as the Local Authority has no funds to make park improvements so the only way it will get done is if we do it as a community project along with other park improvements.

Who will benefit from your project?

BENEFICIARIES
The formal park community which consists of 3 Bowling Clubs, 3 Football Clubs, a Heritage Centre and the Canal Society which total approximately 800 members will benefit as well as over 1,500 other park users such as walkers, dog walkers, tennis players, joggers, bikers, MUGA users, Children using play areas and so forth. The population of the greater Clydach area is approximately 12,000.

Tell us more about your project and how it will benefit your community if you are successful.

PROJECT
Our Group which is called Friends of Coed Gwilym Park was set up in March 2019 to improve the facilities at the park. We are a registered charity and have raised over £15,000 from donations from individuals, businesses and the park clubs together with Gift Aid. We have already carried out some refurbishment works and this project is the next on our list. . The total cost of our project is £7568. We hope to secure £1166 from Tesco Bags of Help scheme, £300 from the Co-op Community scheme and £1102 from our own funds which together with the £5000 from this application would give us our funding.
