To buy a replacement minibus with disabled access so all of our pupils can travel on local trips and get to sporting events.
- The Friends of Abbotswood are a group of hardworking parents, carers and teachers who support our school fundraising events and projects which benefit all our children.
- We are proud to be part of one of the largest Junior schools in Hampshire and our team work, skills and sportsmanship are well known at local and county sporting events. We have used our minibus to attend a variety of sporting competitions and it has helped transport home many medals and trophies for our school.
- The bus is also used to transport pupils to local trips and events which means the costs of these educational trips are reduced to our parents. However our old minibus is not able to transport all of our pupils.
- We require wheel chair access and facilities so that all of our pupils can travel with their peers and experience the same educational opportunities from off site activities.
- For the past year the Friends of Abbotswood have tirelessly been fundraising through holding school fairs, bake sales, drinks stalls and freeze pop Friday events. This fundraising has become increasingly difficult due to the Covid pandemic and restrictions. Minibuses are not cheap and some of the funds we had raised have been diverted to help the school adapt its outside areas to better handle the pandemic. We continue to fundraise to meet the £15000 that we have promised to the school. Please support the Friends of Abbotswood by donating to our project and sharing this page with some of your friends, family and the company you work for!
