Aim
We wish to fund for a new mini-bus to serve the club and community, for young, disadvantaged players and elderly isolated community members.
Who are we?
We are Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club, a proud community club with rugby at our heart. Based in one of the most deprived coastal areas in the country, we work hard to make sport accessible to everyone — from our youngest minis learning the game, to our senior players proudly wearing the club badge each weekend.
We are more than just a rugby club — we’re a family. Our grounds are a hub for sport, friendship, and wellbeing. Every week, we welcome hundreds of players, families, and supporters who share one thing in common: a love of community.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We’re raising £30,000 to buy a new club minibus — a lifeline for our players, young people, and local residents.
Our current transport options are limited and unreliable, meaning many young players from low-income families struggle to get to training or away games. In an area where public transport has been cut back heavily, it’s becoming harder for people to stay connected — especially those in isolated or deprived parts of town.
The new minibus will:
- Transport junior and senior players safely to training and fixtures across Norfolk and Suffolk.
- Help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds take part in sport by removing the travel barrier.
- Support the local community by offering transport for elderly and isolated residents, helping them get to community events, social groups, and appointments.
This isn’t just about rugby, it’s about connection, opportunity, and belonging.
How we’ll spend the money raised
New Minibus cost = £30,000.
Every pound will go directly towards getting our new community bus on the road, helping us transport players, inspire youth, and connect local residents.
Community impact
Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club sits at the heart of a community that faces real social and economic challenges. Many families we support don’t have the means to travel to matches or training, and the recent cuts to local bus services have left many elderly and vulnerable people more isolated than ever.
Our new minibus will help us:
- Increase youth participation in sport and reduce barriers to entry.
- Improve wellbeing by keeping people active and connected.
- Offer shared use to community groups, schools, and charities.
- Tackle loneliness and isolation by providing local transport for older residents.
