The aim of our project is to raise funds to enable the replacement of our outdoor cricket nets.
New Mills Cricket Club is a friendly, volunteer led community sports club providing affordable and inclusive opportunities to people across New Mills and the High Peak. Our thriving cricket section includes four Senior weekend teams, two Women’s hardball teams, Women’s softball teams, and a comprehensive junior section for ages 7 to 19.
We are proud to offer a welcoming, family friendly environment that encourages participation at all levels, from beginners to experienced players. As a club at the heart of our community, we are committed to making cricket accessible, supporting player development, and creating a positive space where everyone feels they belong.

New Mills Cricket Club is embarking on a crowdfunding campaign to secure funds for essential new practice net facilities and needs your help!!
Our cricket club is a big part of the local community, and over the last few years it’s grown massively, especially through our junior and women’s sections. We’ve got more young players and more women getting involved than ever before, which is fantastic to see and something we’re really proud of.

The problem is, our practice nets are now over 20 years old and have become worn out and overgrown. At the moment, only one artificial net is usable, which means sessions can be crowded and it’s difficult to give everyone enough time to train properly.
We don’t want to turn people away or limit opportunities. We want to keep growing, keep people moving, and keep cricket open to everyone.
That’s why we’re raising money for new, safe, modern nets.
With better facilities, we can run more sessions, get more people involved, and make sure everyone, no matter their age or experience, has the chance to get active and be part of the club.
This is about more than cricket. It’s about helping more people in our community stay active, make friends, and be part of something positive.

Installing high quality cricket nets is a significant investment. We will be working with an ECB approved specialist contractor to guarantee a professional installation that meets current standards and will serve the club for many years to come.
The project will include:
Total project cost: £30,000
Every pound raised will go directly towards creating safe, high quality training facilities that will benefit current and future players across our community.

There are plenty of ways to support the club, whether that’s on the pitch or behind the scenes. From donating and spreading the word, to helping out at events or getting involved with fundraising, every bit of support makes a real difference.
We can’t do this without the help of our community, and there are a few simple ways you can play your part:
Donate: Whatever you can give will help move us closer to our goal. Every contribution, big or small, genuinely counts.
Share: Help us reach more people by sharing our crowdfunding page with friends, family, and across social media.
Get Involved: If you’ve got time, skills, or ideas, we’d love your help—whether that’s supporting events or lending a hand as we improve the facilities.
Together, we can build something that benefits everyone—creating better facilities, bringing more people into the game, and helping our club continue to grow for years to come.
Thank you for your support, it really does make a difference!!
Our club plays an important role in bringing people together and helping more people get active, especially through our growing junior and women’s sections.
We’re already making a real difference in the community, welcoming new players, creating opportunities to get involved in sport, and building a friendly, inclusive environment. With improved facilities, we can build on this success and have an even greater impact, reaching more people and keeping our community active for years to come.
