Who we are
We are an independent, self-funding branch of the RSPCA in Cornwall and we have been eagerly waiting to build a new kennel block for the dogs under our care.
Our dogs need new kennels
Our kennels play a vital role in the care and rehabilitation of animals that come to us. We've been supporting thousands of animals since the kennels were first built in 1996. Regardless of the animal's age or medical and behavioural needs, we offer a second chance to each one of them, so they can have a better life.
Although we have capital funds funding the main part of the build, we're in need of your help to raise money to fund parts of the build that this doesn't cover. With your support, we can continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming an ever-growing number of dogs that require our care for years to come. The increasing need for our services means that all our kennels are often at capacity and we are unable to take on any more dogs that people are unable to look after themselves. Often this might only be for a very short amount of time whilst we can get adopters but we’re unable to even provide short term care due to a lack of facilities and we have a waiting list of animals still with their current owners who want them to be rehomed. The demand for our services is high and still increasing!
12 new kennels will allow us to take more dogs into our care from homes where they’re unable to be looked after. Many of our animals are case animals brought to us by our inspectorate and may have to spend prolonged periods due to a court case. These dogs deserve love, care and an environment best suited to their needs. Our new kennels will provide exactly this to more dogs than we’re already helping.
Our first phase is to complete a new block of 12 kennels which will include bespoke design features that we know will make the dogs in our care have the best experience they can at a difficult time.
Phase two will be to refurbish our existing blocks and bring them up to the specification needed in kennels. This is what the dogs in our care deserve and it will also help the hard working teams that look after them on a day-to-day basis manage what they do efficiently and effectively, enabling them to maximise the time they spend with them.

Where will the money go?
We have been able to finance the cost of the build through capital funds that our charity has saved. However, the more additional funds we can raise the better the provision of care we can provide to our dogs. We’re looking to raise £20,000 to fund the additional costs that are needed to fully equip the new kennels and kit it out with everything that a dog needs.
Please give what you can to our fundraiser. We can't thank you enough for the support you're giving which goes towards the animals in our care and towards all the hard work of our amazing team.
