Sport England - Movement Fund has provided £15,000 of match funding
New LED Floodlights for Totteridge Tennis Club

Aim
We are looking to match fund Sport England's very generous donation in order to install much needed environmentally friendly LED Floodlights
Who are we?
Established in 1947, our Tennis Club is a community-focused, not-for-profit organisation providing both our members and the wider local community with tennis facilities and a social hub.
The Club is situated in tranquil parkland, yet just a short walk to Totteridge & Whetstone Underground Station and numerous bus routes.
We offer a truly fantastic venue, set in beautiful grounds with a total of 9 floodlit courts, all with large run-off areas (3 Euroclay, 3 Hard and 3 Tiger Turf courts).
We have over 40 different adult teams entered into mens and womens competitive tennis leagues every year from the premier division down, so there is the opportunity to play competitively at every level, in every age group and in both winter and summer seasons.
The club has an active social diary with regular events such as quiz nights, wine tasting, table tennis tournaments, family BBQs, club trips etc. There is also a thriving clubhouse and bar where players and guests can enjoy a wide range of beverages. The bar is open most days and there is free Wi-Fi within the clubhouse.
Why are we crowdfunding?
To replace our existing floodlights with much more effcient LED Lights.
Our floodlights are aging Metal Haldide (Mercury / Halogen) lights that are bad for the environment, energy inefficient and unreliable. They also cost a fortune to replace - if we can source the bulbs!
Transitioning to LED floodlights is a vital step toward reducing the clubʼs environmental impact and improving the sustainability and energy efficiency of Totteridge Tennis Club.
The new set up will offer a great improvement on the current lighting levels, whilst being less expensive to maintain and with less light spill on to neighbouring properties.

How we’ll spend the money raised
These LED Floodlights do not come cheaply. The Club requires 54 replacement lights, each with a cost in the region of £1,000, and we are hoping that the installation will take place in the autumn so that the lights are in full use in time for those long winter nights.
The great news is that, if we reach a total of £15,000 then Sport England will give us another £15,000. But we only have 12 weeks to hit the target!
Community impact
Totteridge Tennis Club is far more than a place for the members and the local community to play some tennis.
As the graphic below shows, the Club offers all sorts of programs and opportunities for local Community Groups, many of whom are not members.
In addition, all local nieghbours get free social membership, enabling them to use the bar and catering facilities as well as the ability to attend all functions and events.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! Sponsor a whole light and you get the opportunity to name it and we'll make sure that the name is displayed for everyone to see.
2. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
3. Buy through our Crowdfunder Page. From membership deals to tennis balls; bar credits to event tickets. Every purchase moves us closer to our target.
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
