We want to commission a new oak carved deer as a feature piece in the centre of the Canute Place roundabout.
Back in 2013, Knutsford in Bloom were given 'Elvis' and he moved into Canute Place.
Elvis was a wire-frame deer, stuffed with moss which was installed in the centre of the roundabout as a feature. Elvis needed regular re-stuffing, and over time the frame deteriorated and he had to be removed in 2023.

This project is to replace Elvis with something even better. We'd like to commission local chainsaw artist, Andy Burgess, to create a new deer carving for the roundabout. Made of locally sourced oak, the new deer would be a more unique and artistic feature welcoming people to Knutsford.
What will the new deer look like?
At this stage, we don't know exactly. Once we know what funds we have we will work with Andy on a design. Here's some example's of Andy's previous deer-work.

How will the funds from this Crowdfunder be used?
The funds raised from this crowdfunder will fund the new sculpture and its installation. Any funds left over will be used to plant up the roundabout or used for similar improvements in the town.
What if we don't raise enough?
We're committed to delivering a piece of public artwork on the roundabout. If we don't manage to raise enough to deliver the deer we have in mind, we will work to identify an alternative feature within the budget we have.
