Aviva Cost of Living Boost has provided £135 of match funding
We are raising money to help our Food Hub members with the Cost of Living Crisis, particularly during winter months as energy costs escalate
Many of our members are struggling with the Cost of Living Crisis and finding it hard to make ends meet between purchasing food, rising energy bills and costs.
The Food Hub helps support people in our local Lostock Hall community by providing affordable food and a warm place to sit and enjoy a drink/cake with our volunteer team. The grocery model restores dignity and promotes independence, compared to traditional food banks. We get to know Food Hub members needs and signpost to other support agencies who also occasionally visit the Food Hub to provide advice. We are also starting beginners cookery classes in January 2023 and provide basic IT training.
Any funds raised will be used to purchase food and toiletries when needed, helping Food Hub members with practical items as required (including contributing towards energy costs) and also buying children’s toys to enhance our community café area for young families. These donations will help us continue to meet the needs of those we support and allow us to sustainably continue into 2023.
