Aim: To replace our old unsafe nets with a two-lane enclosed facility to boost safety, access, and inclusion for our growing cricket community.
Holmes Chapel Cricket Club is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led community organisation using cricket to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and personal growth across all ages.
While cricket is our core focus, we offer much more - providing physical activity, teamwork, and social engagement for individuals aged 5 to over 60. Our programmes span coaching, training, and development across junior, senior, and our newly launched women’s and girls’ teams.
Beyond the game, we help young members gain coaching qualifications, building confidence, leadership, and life skills.
Above all, we aim to foster a safe, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, connected, and empowered to thrive on and off the pitch.
We have a big target of £41,238 to reach!
We have already made great progress and have secured a grant from the ECB, but we need your support to complete this next phase of fundraising to bring us closer to the finish line!
This is our first ever crowdfunder campaign and we are very excited to have been offered match funding by Sport England! To qualify for this extra funding we need to raise at least £8601 from at least 25 unique supporters.
This project will replace our existing open nets which have become a real limitation; they’re open, so we can’t safely train when others are using the field. Replacing them with enclosed nets will transform our facilities, letting more teams train at once without compromising safety - significantly increasing our capacity.
In just four years our club has expanded from two men’s teams to twelve teams which now include juniors, women, and girls. This project is vital to support that growth and provide safe, inclusive training facilities.
The upgraded facilities will improve access, training quality, and flexibility, particularly supporting the participation and retention of women and girls which is a key area of focus for the club.
This is more than an infrastructure upgrade; it’s a key step in sustaining our club’s future and strengthening our role as a community sports hub.
Every pound you donate will go directly toward creating a lasting legacy for our club - a brand-new cricket net facility, built to professional standards by an ECB-approved supplier.
This isn’t just a net, it’s a game-changing investment in our players, from the youngest juniors just starting out to the seasoned club veterans chasing their personal best. The funds raised will cover everything from high-quality synthetic surfaces and secure netting, to safe, durable structures designed to withstand years of use.
Your support helps us invest in the future of the club - thank you for being part of it!
As a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation, our mission goes beyond cricket, we promote community wellbeing, inclusion, and personal development. We offer year-round opportunities for all ages and abilities. We also support youth development through coaching qualifications and initiatives like the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
