Urchfont Tennis Club is a small rural tennis facility desperately in need of a clubhouse and toilet. COVID 19 has stopped our plan!
Urchfont Tennis Club
Urchfont Tennis Club is a very small, rural tennis club and is open to the whole community. It is 50 years old this year!

The two courts have been self funded by the members since first set up in 1970.
The Community
We are in a rural location, on the edge of the village playing fields, but are a key part of the local community.
The club hosts approximately 30 matches every summer from teams across Wiltshire and beyond. Food and refreshments are taken in the only pub in the village, contributing to the local economy.
Membership is consistent over the years, and fees are kept low to encourage the community of Urchfont to play tennis as much as possible.
The local school is given free access to the courts if they wish to use them.
The club is a vital source of physical activity and social interaction in the village.
Our ambition is to widen the appeal of tennis and make the facilities enjoyable for all.
OUR PROJECT
There is a desperate need for a clubhouse with changing rooms and a toilet facility.
As you can see our existing ’clubhouse‘ is a little out of date!
With changing rooms and a toilet, the club will be able to further develop coaching for juniors and provide better facilities for the members and wider community.
There is a need to satisfy LTA Safeguarding guidelines and this cannot be done with the existing 'clubhouse'.
To achieve this we must develop our facilities to keep pace with modern standards and expectations
FUNDRAISING
We have been fundraising and have received support from the Scarecrow Festival, Parish Council and Sport England, and are very close to having enough money to complete the project
COVID 19- The impact
We had a plan - like many! - but the pandemic stopped us in our tracks.
We have raised nearly £25,000 for the build, but the lockdown has led to rising costs for the clubhouse structure which has put it out of our limited financial means. We are looking to bridge the gap in our budget caused by the pandemic and raise an additional £2,500.
We are proud to have responded so quickly to the public health and LTA guidelines to get the club safe for re-opening again and get people playing tennis in a safe environment.
We need the help of our members, supporters and local residents to pledge money and bring the project to life and get our clubhouse built!

All donations regardless of value will be really appreciated.
There is an interesting and varied package of rewards available from £10 to £500, but please donate what you can afford.
The Vision
Crowd funding will give us that final piece of the jigsaw.
This is the vision for the clubhouse with two changing rooms and a toilet.

Thank you!
