Aim

Make an investment in the future of Kegworth Town Cricket Club. Our aim is to raise £10,000 in support of new changing facilities.

Who are we?

Kegworth Town Cricket Club is an ECB Clubmark accredited club meaning we are recognised as a safe, family friendly and well organised club run entirely by volunteers.

We are members of the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League and Leicestershire Youth Cricket League.

We have two Saturday League Teams. In 2023 our 1st XI will compete in the Premier Division, with our 2nd XI playing in Division 4 West.

Our Junior section has teams at the following age groups - Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 & Under 15 for boys and girls.

We are also a centre for All Stars Cricket for boys and girls aged 5 to 8 and Dynamos Cricket for boys and girls aged 8 to 11.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our aim is to raise £10,000 in support of new changing facilities at KTCC.

At KTCC our current changing facilities are not fit for purpose and were rated the worst in the Leicestershire & Rutland Premier Division by opposition clubs and umpires in 2022.

We need to improve and increase the size of the current changing facilities to meet ECB and League facility requirements. This will also create a safe environment for our junior cricketers and ensure safeguarding regulations are adhered to for Clubmark reaccreditation.

Building work has commenced on an extension to the current pavilion providing a new changing room with showers and toilet. The existing changing rooms will be amalgamated to form a bigger space for visiting teams.

Our objective is to ensure the new facilities are in place for the 2023 season.

Improving our facilities is critically important for our members and will help us to grow, attract and retain cricketing talent, both youngsters and adults, and to do this we need your help. This is an important, long-term investment in the future of the club, and we hope our many friends will help us achieve our ambition.

We expect the overall cost of the project to reach £45,000. The club is fully funding the project but are seeking grant funding and donations to contribute towards the total cost.

We are confident that with £10,000 in donations we can complete the work. Will you help us? Every contribution no matter how small will take us a step closer to success. Please add Gift Aid to increase your donation by 25% where you are eligible.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

Community impact

We are located at the heart of the village and engage with the community in a number of ways. Our social areas including bar is open to the community on match days to enjoy the cricket. We host quiz nights throughout the winter and our facility is available to hire for parties, social functions etc. and we regularly host such events.

The local primary school and associated secondary schools do not offer cricket as part of the curriculum so we see many children using our facilities for coaching sessions run by our volunteer coaches.

We also offer structured coaching for children aged 5 to 11 as part of the ECB led All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket programmes. This provides a fantastic opportunity to make friends, have fun and is an introduction to physical activity through cricket. This is a valuable addition to the community in a safe and enjoyable environment.
