To raise funds to build new changing rooms for our senior & junior players (boys & girls) and also extend our clubhouse area for all.
Established over 150 years ago, Sandal Cricket Club is a family-oriented club at the heart of the community and is dedicated to providing high-quality, safe, and inclusive sporting and social facilities for the local community and our members. We aim to offer comprehensive cricket opportunities for all, featuring teams for boys, girls, men and women, ranging from our junior sides to the 1st XI, which competes in the Bradford Premier League.

Our changing facilities are in need of significant improvement. Originally constructed when only male teams were active, the current layout is inadequate for our ambition to have teams including women & girls sides. The existing changing rooms are too small, primarily intended for male users and lack privacy.
The proposed development will help us to attract more participants to the sport including more juniors, women and girls.
We have already been awarded a significant grant by Wakefield Council but now need to raise a further £30k (of which Sport England have pledged to provide £15k if we can raise the other £15k).

We have received planning permission to build a new standalone facility (including two large changing rooms each having their own shower areas; a safe changing area for women & girls; and a disabled toilet facility) creating a more welcoming environment for all players, including visiting teams.

This will also enable us to extend the clubhouse bar area into the space currently occupied by the existing changing rooms - creating a much bigger space for our members and visitors to enjoy.
The upgraded facilities will directly benefit approximately 80 local individuals who currently play cricket at Sandal CC, but particularly juniors and female players who have previously been underserved by our facilities. These enhancements will hopefully attract more participants to the sport, especially women and girls, by providing them with modern and clean changing facilities.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
