Please help fund a NEW set of lively children's books exploring values and virtues. PRE-ORDER your books today.

Wooohooo - Bracken Wood Collection is a NEW series of five rhyming books, written by myself, Clare Luther.
It's been an amazing two years bringing these five books to life, however I'm now facing the last hurdle of production and publication costs.
I'd dearly love this new series to make their way into the homes and classrooms of young children, so I've put together a Crowdfunder campaign and I would be grateful for any support you are able to offer in my bid to raise £8000.
If you would like to help... simply pre-order your set of five books today, £35 P&P included, via the reward button and you'll receive your signed copies. Or, make a donation if you'd prefer.
Aimed at children from 3 to 8 years old, these colourful picture books are illustrated by Melissa Fife, www.melissafife.co.uk, are based on five elements of character education - kindness, gratitude, acceptance, perseverance and respect.
Each book in Bracken Wood:-
i) focuses on a British woodland creature currently under threat in the UK - turtle dove, tree bee, water vole, tawny owl and hedgehog,
ii) has been well-researched and includes wildlife facts about the creature and their habitat,
iii) offers the opportunity to get conversations started with questions at the back for further prompts. Post-Covid, this seems to be especially important for children in the younger years who have been denied social interaction and experiences with peers due to lockdown restrictions.
iv) has a clear story framework, i.e. a problem, a reflection and a change helping young children draw on their own experience and apply their learning into their everyday situations,
v) has a FREE downloadable book-related activity pack for you to use at home or in the classroom,
vi) can be read both at home and used in the classroom as a teaching resource.
My passion is to create honest, relatable, non-nuanced books that help young children to understand themselves better. Books can be bought online, www.head2heartbooks.com, but also in person when I'm on author visits in nurseries and primary schools, organised by Ellie Powling, www.speakingofbooks.co.uk.
If this Crowdfunding campaign is successful, my hope is to continue running engaging and interactive workshops for pre-schoolers and Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 & 2 children using these books under two important educational umbrellas:-
a) emotional well-being/ mental health - The Little Paws Hotel.
b) character education - Bracken Wood Collection.
In the past month, I have worked in 19 nurseries and primary schools leading assemblies, workshops and story time sessions with children aged 2 to 9 years old.
'Thank you to you too for your energy. The children loved their workshops and really engaged with the characters and stories.' Mrs Larsen, Deputy Head, Oaktree Primary School, Woking.
'Her books are a wonderful way for younger children to tackle some tough issues surrounding wellbeing. “Inspirational and very much recommended” say the Cottesmore team members.' Mr Rogerson, Head, Cottesmore School.
Partnering up... Excitingly a local charity based in Battersea, People's Trust for Endangered Species, PTES www.ptes.org, have partnered up with me at Head 2 Heart Books for this new project.
Their work is to raise awareness about the UK's delicately balanced ecosystem being under threat. Grounded in science, PTES invest in research and test the best ways to protect endangered species in their natural habitats, putting what works into action and creating vibrant wildlife havens.
The books in Bracken Wood Collection compliment PTES's work and ethos with their educational content and environmentally friendly composition. All our books are put together locally by graphic designer Susannah Perry-Greene, www.perry-greenedesign.com, and printed by a carbon balance publication printer based in Surrey, Impress Print Services Ltd, www.impressprint.co.uk.

- Pre-order your set of five books today, £35 P&P included, via the reward button and you'll receive your signed copies. Or, make a donation if you'd prefer.
These books make perfect gifts, bedtime stories, classroom resources and a great younger reader's addition to a school library.
Five percent of all payments will go to PTES, helping bring the wild back to life!
- If you can, please share this link with friends and family to spread the word.
Thanks SO much for your support, Clare x

My name is Clare Luther. I run a small independent publishing business called Head 2 Heart Books Ltd, www.head2heartbooks.com, and I write children's books.
Head 2 Heart Books aims to provide picture books that help children, 3 to 8 years old, explore big emotions and get conversations started both at home and in the classroom. Research shows that by encouraging children to talk in their early years about their tricky emotions, values and virtues as part of everyday conversations has a positive impact on their emotional well being, mental health and resilience as they mature and grow.
Head 2 Heart Books has one series already published under its Emotional Well Being umbrella, called 'The Little Paws Hotel', illustrated by Maria Floyd, www.mariafloydart.com. The six books address topics of separation anxiety, fear of new experiences, perfectionism, being bullied, being the bully and bereavement and grief.
I do my best to take an ethical and sustainable stance with all the business decisions and choices that I make at Head 2 Heart Books, making it a priority to work with local businesses and individuals for the production and packaging of our books.
