Kyle Warren

Kyle Warren Biography

World Champion and Red Hot Chilli Piper Kyle Warren has returned to Scotland after spending five years living and piping in Australia.

Before emigrating, Kyle was a member of the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, winning seventeen of twenty major titles in four years (2011-2014), which included a history making double ‘Grand Slam’, four World Championships titles in a row and four Champion of Champions titles in a row. Kyle was also a full-time member of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers touring worldwide, having joined the famous ‘BagRock’ band after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Scottish Music – Piping, from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formally the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama).

A world-class bagpiper and teacher, Kyle has taught at some of the leading independent schools across the globe, recorded pipes on the Disney Pixar Oscar winning movie ‘Brave’, previous finalist of the BBC Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the year, former Pipe Major of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, winner of a Danny Kyle award with ‘TNT’ at Celtic Connections, Breton Championship winner in Lorient with Bagad Cap Caval, and released his debut album ‘Wanted’ and first book of music ‘Tunez’ to high acclaim.

Since returning to Scotland Kyle rejoined Field Marshal Montgomery, got those red socks back on to Bag-Rock with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, released his second collection of bagpipe music titled 'EAT SLEEP PIPE REPEAT' and released his second piping album titled ‘Relentless’, having signed to Scotland’s leading traditional music label, Greentrax.

In 2022 Field Marshal Montgomery won the World Pipe Band Championships for a record thirteenth time under legendary Pipe Major Richard Parkes MBE. This was Kyle's fifth World Championship win and fifth Champion of Champions title in five years as a member of Northern Ireland's most successful pipe band ever.

From TV appearances on BBC’s ‘Blue Peter ‘and CBBC ‘What’s in Your Bag?’, to recording music and filming for the multi award winning series ‘Outlander,’ casting as piper to the Clan MacKenzie of Leoch in the upcoming Outlander prequel ‘Blood of My Blood’ which is set to hit screens in summer 2025.

Kyle currently holds the position of Director of Pipes and Drums at one of the most prestigious independent schools in Scotland and is set to release his third book of bagpipe music in August 2025.
