Our Club in the Community

Evenwood CC has been a pillar of the community for over half a century providing a way for young people to get into sport.

We are located in a deprived area of County Durham and ensure we create a welcoming environment to all whilst providing equipment and access to cricket for all our current and new members.

A number of our players over the years have gone on to represent the club at their respective county age groups.

Since 2018 we have provided ECB schemes to the local schools to keep kids active and provide a pathway into cricket, through ALL STARS and DYNAMO Cricket programmes with over 30 children taking part from local schools last season.

Why are we Crowdfunding?

As you can imagine £10,000 is a lot of money to any amateur sports club and in particularly Evenwood CC as we have no clubhouse or bar facilities to fundraise from. The pandemic also hit the club hard like every sports team and we are only just starting to fully recover from the two years of incredibly difficult times.

How we will spend the Money?

We are looking to install an all weather practice facility at our ground. The facility will consist of two practice lanes with a playing surface suitable for practice during inclement weather as well as an enclosed netted cage.

Total Project Cost - £33,000

  • Raised so far - £23,000
  • Amount needed - £10,000

We now need to raise the remaining £10,000 to complete the project. (See above example of All Weather Practice Facility)

Once this is secured we can start our project and build the first class practice facility for the benefit of our junior and adult playing members.

(See above our custom designed practice facility)

What difference will this make?

  • Vastly improve our ground and facility
  • Massively increase capacity for our junior practice sessions
  • Allow us to hold open sessions to attract new junior players
  • Improve the quality of our practice sessions and ultimately the standard of cricketer we can produce
  • Increase our membership and club sustainability
  • Giving our coaches the tools to get the best out of our practice sessions

How can you play your part?

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Create a fundraiser of your own. Use the button on our page to get started. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

We did it!!

In August 2023 the All weather practice facility was successfully installed at the welfare ground!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED US WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!!
