Aim

To bring to life a powerful book of poetry written by women who have survived domestic abuse - giving them a voice on the page.

Words have power.
In January 2024, I began a Survivor’s Writing Group as a volunteer with Restored, a Christian charity working for a world where women live free from violence. Together, women who have experienced domestic abuse have found a safe space to write, share, connect, and heal through words.

I'd love to bring some of those words into the world. We are creating a collection of poems written anonymously by members of the group - voices that have too often been silenced. These poems speak honestly of pain and darkness, but also of hope, resilience, and light. They are also beautiful and profound in their own right.

Why this matters:

  • Survivors will hold a physical copy of their words — a powerful recognition of their courage and creativity
  • The wider community will gain insight into the realities of abuse and the strength of survivors
  • Every page can raise awareness and spark conversations that can lead to change.

How you can help:  We need support to cover the cost of publishing this collection.

  • Any donation makes a difference. Our target is £880.
  • For donations of £15 or more, you’ll receive a copy of the collection when it’s ready (target: spring 2026).
  • Any funds raised above the cost of the collection will be used will be used to support survivors in other ways, wherever the need is greatest.

Please help us use words for good by naming harm, restoring dignity and reimagining relationships where everyone flourishes.
