Help Never Give Up Rescue CIC build a safe, loving home for cats in need in Hull, so we can continue to rescue and rehome cats in the area.
Hi, I’m Amy, and I’ve been rescuing animals for over 14 years. What began as a small pet shop soon became a lifelong mission when people started leaving unwanted animals outside my door. One by one, they came — scared, hungry, abandoned — and I simply couldn’t turn them away.
Since then, rescuing animals has become my life’s purpose. For the past six years, I’ve been running a rescue from my rented home on Harley Street in Hull, caring for up to 115 cats at a time. Over the years, I’ve rescued and rehomed thousands of animals — each with their own story, each deserving of a second chance.
As a no-kill rescue, I care for the cats that no one else will — the elderly, the injured, the nervous and the forgotten. Every month, I take 10–15 cats to be neutered, preventing over 1,500 stray kittens every year from being born into hardship on the streets of Hull and surrounding areas.
💔 The problem: The house I rent — which has been both my home and the cats’ sanctuary — is being sold. We have around three months to find a new place, or the rescue will lose its home.
💡 The plan: I’ve now established Never Give Up Rescue CIC as a Community Interest Company, ensuring transparency and that all funds go directly where they’re needed. Our goal is to raise £40,000 to buy land or a suitable property at auction where we can build purpose-built, secure facilities for the cats. This will give them the safe haven they deserve — a true forever home.
💰 The funds: Every penny raised will be ringfenced strictly for this cause — to purchase land or a property and create a permanent rescue centre.
This rescue has never received government funding. Everything achieved so far has come from sheer determination, kindness, and the generosity of people like you.
