Aim: To support and empower neurodiverse people and their families, enabling them to reach their full potential and live a life of fulfilment.

NeuroSENter: Empowering the Neurodiverse Community

NeuroSENter is a dedicated organisation providing essential psychotherapy services to the neurodiverse community within Telford, Wrekin, and Shropshire, while also offering psychoeducation to anyone living alongside neurodiversity. Our mission is to empower and support our neurodiverse community by providing specialised care and resources.

At NeuroSENter, we believe in the power of understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with neurodiversity and SEN. Our goal is to create a more inclusive and supportive environment where everyone, regardless of neurodiversity and/ or SEN, can thrive and express their unique potential.

Why?

In Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, the urgent need for a dedicated neurodivergent mental health service is becoming increasingly apparent. The current landscape is marked by a severe lack of specialised services, leaving many individuals without the support they critically need. With NHS waiting lists for diagnosis stretching for years, those seeking help find themselves in a disheartening limbo. This delay not only exacerbates mental health issues but also leaves individuals without guidance or assistance during a crucial period. The absence of support prior to diagnosis is far too often reflected post diagnosis, due to limited services available or a vast number of NHS mental health services simply not having adequate provision in place to cater for a neurodivergent individual, and this can lead to feelings of isolation and hopelessness, contributing to the troubling statistic that suicide rates are significantly higher among the neurodiverse community. Establishing a specialised mental health service in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin would provide the necessary support to bridge this gap, offering timely intervention, guidance, and hope to those who have been underserved for too long. It would signify a compassionate and proactive step toward fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

Project Overview:
Our focus is on expanding our psychotherapy services and providing enhanced psychoeducation resources to the community. By offering specialised therapy tailored to the specific needs of the neurodiverse community and educational workshops for families, educators, and employers, we aim to foster a more understanding and inclusive society.

Why We Need Your Support:
To provide high-quality psychotherapy and psychoeducation we require funding for essential resources, bigger premises, specialised training, and outreach programs. Your generous contributions will enable us to expand our reach, improve access to services, and provide additional support to the neurodiverse community. We want the service to be donation based, and do not want those most in need of our services to be unable to get the necessary help they need because of cost.

Psychotherapy plays a crucial role in supporting neurodivergent individuals, who may experience unique challenges in navigating a world often designed for neurotypical people. Understanding and addressing these challenges through therapeutic means can significantly enhance the quality of life for neurodivergent individuals.

Psychoeducation is an invaluable tool that can empower families to understand, manage, and cope with mental health challenges. By offering insight into these issues, families are better equipped to support each other, maintain strong, healthy relationships, and create a safe space in the home environment, school or workplace.

Meet the Team

Darren - Psychotherapist specialising in neurodiversity and SEN.

I was often misunderstood, misinterpreted and labelled - often hearing peoples false narratives of myself - however, completely unable to express myself or the sense of injustice I felt. After spending the past few years working as a psychotherapist, studying neurodiversity at length, and accepting my own neurodiversity, I am extremely desperate to help others to find acceptance within themselves."

Alix - Psychotherapist with lived experience of neurodiversity and SEN.

Upon realising I am different, not broken, I have the drive and passion to support others in realising the same.

Basia - Psychotherapist with lived experience of neurodiversity and SEN. Experience working with young neurodivergent adults and children.

1749052045_whatsapp_image_2025-06-04_at_16.26.11_(1).jpegI grew up in Poland at a time when mental health was a taboo subject. It was something that was not spoken about. A sign of weakness. I understand the feeling of being alone. When I arrived in England and had children of my own that were diagnosed with neurodiversity and SEN, I started to understand my way of being and how I can support others in doing the same.
