Rescuing has grown legs as more people hear about Network Bird Life. I have looked after injured wild birds since the age of 12. I now have a rescue pigeon loft, a raptor run for birds of prey, and a triage shed where I assess, treat and medicate new arrivals. My aim is always to return any bird to the wild, but in the unfortunate event that this is not possible, I will provide lifetime care or arrange for the bird to go to another reputable rehabber. This often involves travel and the costs soon mount up. I rescue because I love it, but love doesn't buy all the food (sometimes specialised), medicines and associated outlays needed to continue year round assistance.
