Alrewas Cricket Club is raising funds for a brand new state of the art all weather practice facility at Walkfield.

On the 5th May 2024 we'd raised £15,421 with 199 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Any extra money raised will be invested in our in-house junior coaching programme, the Andie Oliver Cricket Academy.
We are a vibrant village cricket club serving the local community of Alrewas and Fradley. We run 4 senior teams in the Derbyshire County League and our 1st XI play in the ECB Premier Division. We have recently seen a rapid expansion across our Men's, Women's and Junior cricket sections and our picturesque ground at Walkfield (our home since 1879) is second to none.
During the pandemic we experienced a significant increase in membership, as people sought a safe outdoor space in which to play, exercise and socialise. The Club has continued to expand since and we now need to develop our facilities to accommodate everyone. Our urgent priority is to upgrade our all-weather practice facilities to create a safe environment in which to coach our young cricketers and where they in turn can practice unsupervised. Our current facilities have been in place for over 25 years and clearly need upgrading.
Please support us with this ambitious and exciting project.
We have received 3 comparable quotes to replace our tired and worn practice facilities with a brand new all-weather 3 bay net facility with added safety features including an extended cage size, longer bowlers run-ups and batting screens. The total project cost is £59,000 to which the Club has already committed £24,000 of its own Reserves. In addition, several applications have been made for grant funding but we still have a fair way to go to reach our target. Please support us in our efforts to raise the balance.
We are determined to build on the traditions of our Club and remain at the heart of our community in Alrewas and Fradley. Back in the 1970's we were the first local club to introduce a dedicated Junior section and now we are leading the way with the development of our Women's section. The new facilities will allow members of the local community to practice and play in a safe and quality environment whether through organised coaching sessions or unsupervised practice.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Whether you wish to support one of our fundraising events or simply make a donation, please do it now. Momentum is the key to the success of our campaign.
2. Spread the word. Please share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. If you're a local business, you can help us by donating goods or services we can offer our supporters. please contact our team to discuss this further. We'll give you a big shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser, perhaps a sponsored activity or similar, so much the better. Please let us know so we can share resources and help with promotion.
