Aim

Following a break in at our cricket club, we are running a fundraiser to upgrade our security to prevent this happening in the future.

Nether Whitacre Cricket Club are fundraising to make refurbishments to the pavilion and to the ground, as well as repairing the damages to the club house from the multiple break ins.

After a discovering the latest break in at our cricket clubhouse and pavilion, Nether Whitacre Cricket Club are running a fundraiser to make safeguarding and security upgrades, as well as replacing stolen goods which have left us in an unfortunate position. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, to help this pillar of the local community make the necessary improvements, to aid us on a sad day and prevent this happening in future.

Why do we need funds?

Despite our current pavilion having the basic facilities for a village cricket club, sadly multiple break ins, time and a lack of funds have caught up with our beloved clubhouse and refurbishments are desperately needed for security and safeguarding upgrades.

The break in has left the club with losses of many valuable assets including electronics, kit, equipment, money, first aid necessities and personal items which cannot be replaced, due to sentimental value. The doors to the pavilion have been left badly damaged, requiring urgent upgrades. There is vandalism to the interior of the club, which will require redecoration.

In addition to the break in, there are structural damages, including the tiling on the roof of the pavilion and to the water pipework throughout the building, resulting in numerous water leaks presenting multiple health and safety risks. The kitchen and lounge area are requiring floor plan adjustments  to make the communal area more welcoming. Extensions are required to the changing rooms, which were designed for the days when teams used to share equipment; there are now also female players for both NWCC opposition and visiting teams, who require and deserve equal facilities for changing and privacy.

There is also limited access and a lack of facilities for disabled persons, so it is a priority for us to as a club to improve their experience and the inclusivity at Nether Whitacre Cricket Club.

Protective netting around the ground for local residents is also dated and require replacing, to minimise damages to the houses nearby. Nearby foliages and trees has overgrown and now hang over the pitch, affecting the playing conditions and presenting a health and safety risk from falling branches.

Who are we?

Since our inception in 1887, Nether Whitacre Cricket Club has called Coton Road it’s home and been a pillar to the local community with growth and improvement ever since. We currently have 3 Saturday teams, a Sunday team, a T20 team, female playing members and a junior section with 4 active sides, also responsible for producing First Class cricketers at a professional level. We feel it’s paramount that the infrastructure and facilities available should adequately reflect the people who represent Nether Whitacre and Nether Whitacre represents, not just for the present but also for the future of this club and club cricket in Warwickshire.
