We're building a brand new, Net Zero Modular Community Building at Middleforth Green - and we need your support to make it happen.
For over 145 years, Penwortham Cricket Club has been more than just a cricket ground - it's been a community space, a meeting point and a home for generations of people in and around Penwortham. Now, it’s time to secure our future with a modern, sustainable facility that everyone can benefit from.
🌱 What Are We Creating?
We’re launching Phase 1 of our Vision Project - the creation of a Net Zero Modular Community Building, located pitch-side at our historic home, Middleforth Green.
This will be a modern, glass-fronted, energy-efficient hub, designed to serve the needs of our club and the wider community. The building will be:
✅ Powered by renewable solar energy
✅ Fully accessible and inclusive for all ages and abilities
✅ Built using low-impact modular construction
✅ Designed with flexible indoor spaces for events, meetings and social use
✅ A true Net Zero facility built for future generations
💚 Why We Need It
Our current facilities are dated and limited. We want to offer something truly modern and inclusive - not just for cricket, but for the whole community. This new building will support:
Local sports teams and grassroots cricket
Community groups, clubs and organisations
Wellbeing activities, social events and educational programmes
A more sustainable and financially secure future for our club
This isn’t just about us — it’s about creating a shared community space that supports health, wellbeing and connection in a way that’s environmentally responsible and future-proof.
🎯 Our Fundraising Target
We’re aiming to raise £85,000 to complete Phase 1 — and this Crowdfunder is focused on reaching our initial target of £30,000.
Every pound raised will go directly towards:
Building and installing the modular structure
Fitting out the interior for community and club use
Installing rooftop solar panels and sustainability systems
Ensuring full accessibility for all users
