Nelson, Lancashire. Art Trail

Aim

The aim of the project is to engage the people of Lancashire to visit Nelson and participate in its heritage and art with an art project.

I'm Craig t'Artist a Lancashire Lad born and bred. I've been an artist for 14 years and want to bring art to Nelson in Lancashire with your help, there are rewards for your kind pledges.

The Art Trail is guided by a mobile app which is to be developed. 20 pieces of art are displayed on boards around a walking route around Nelson. QR codes are used to register participants and these codes link to explainer videos which describe the art and some heritage of Nelson. My colleague will Zoom into schools and give presentations about the trail and the history of Nelson. Students will be encouraged to explore local history and participate with the Nelson Art Trail. With the inclusion of family and friends we aim to engage with 400,000 people in Lancashire, if 20% participate in the Nelson Art Trail that will be 80,000 people visiting Nelson. To pursue this Trail on an annual basis the aim is to attract sponsorship, this will need hard data of people attracted to the trail and participating, with your pledges we can achieve this. The £25,000 will pay for the app, Zoom presentations, guided walks, printing and the cash prizes.
