Alzheimer’s has affected, and continues to affect, so many of our loved ones.
It is a cruel disease — often described as a long goodbye. The grieving can begin from the moment we hear those heartbreaking words: “Your loved one has Alzheimer’s.”
Then, day by day, we watch the person who brought us up, loved us, cared for us and showed us kindness and compassion throughout our lives slowly slip away in front of our eyes.
It is incredibly difficult to watch someone you love change in ways that are completely beyond their control.
