In line with Ruth's wishes at the end of her life, she has asked for friends and family to plant native woodland in her memory.
As (Tove) Ruth Robson enters the final stage of her life, in palliative care at home, we want to honour her wishes by allowing friends and family to join together to donate in her memory. She would like loved ones to choose between planting a small plot of native woodland, in her memory or donating to Survival International, a charity working with indigenous peoples which has been close to her heart for many years. Indigenous rights and the environment are her biggest ongoing concerns.
We encourage those who wish to donate to Survival International to do so by clicking the link Here.
Alternatively, you can donate to the woodland project by using this crowd funding page (below) where we will draw funds together for an area of native woodland to purchased via our local Borough Council. They currently have an area in mind close to where we lived for many years. The purchase of native trees in her memory will cost £3 per tree, with a mix of native species being planted, including oak, birch, hazel, field maple, rowan and holly. The site will be public access, so over the years, we and the public will be able to visit. Should this exact site not be available, another similar location in the area will be used instead.
Please note we do not have set figure to fundraise here, we will simply buy as many trees as people wish to donate.
