National Professional Qualfication for Headship

Aim

National Professional Qualfication for Headship funding.

I have got through the selection process to enable me to work towards the National Professional Qualification for Headship. The course should take around a year, and it will enable me to progress in my career, towards Deputy Headship and in the future Headship. 

I have already completed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership, which was of great benefit to the two rural schools that I work in, raising standards and increasing opporutnities for children and staff.

In working towards NPQH the federation I work in will benefit greatly. I will undertake a whole federation project, I will take part in face to face sessions in leadership skills, and I will also be able to lead a project in a contrasting school.

After a large amount of work, as I say I got through the selection process, and as I work in two small schools of under 100 children, I was eligible for a scholarship to fully fund the course. However I have since found out that the government have taken away all scholarships for the first time this year. The schools I work in do not have enough money in their budgets to fund me in this qualification. Unless I can raise at least £2000 in the next four weeks I am looking at having to withdraw from the qualification. Obviously for my professional development and for my career this would be devastating.
