Nantyglo RFC - Clubhouse Refit

Aim: Nantyglo RFC is seeking your help to raise funds for a fully refit of its clubhouse kitchen.

Who are we?

Nantyglo RFC combines competitive success with community dedication—acting not just as a rugby club, but as a social hub that nurtures sporting talent, fosters cohesion, and supports local wellbeing.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Nantyglo RFC would like to refit the clubhouse kitchen to transform it into a fully operational catering facility. This refurbishment will enable the club to:

•             Serve hot food and beverages for match days, training sessions, community drop-ins, and warm hub events.

•             Host a wider range of community activities—from weddings, private parties, training courses and themed social evenings.

•             Generate revenue through venue hire and catering services, supporting both the club maintenance and community programming.

These improvements will significantly bolster Nantyglo RFC’s capacity to act as a community hub, delivering essential social, educational, and wellbeing services in Blaenau Gwent and ensuring the club house is available for future generations to enjoy its full services and activities.   

How we’ll spend the money raised

We are excited to launch our crowdfunding campaign to help support Nantyglo RFC’s new community kitchen! This investment will allow us to install top-quality cooking equipment, eco-friendly lighting, and safe, compliant facilities—all powered by energy-saving tech to reduce bills and carbon emissions.  With this upgrade, we will be able to offer hot meals at matches, training sessions, socials, weddings and family gatherings, creating local jobs, volunteer training opportunities, and a vibrant venue for community events. By boosting our catering options, we will be able to welcome more visitors, support local suppliers, and build a sustainable income stream for the club—benefiting everyone in Blaenau Gwent.  Join us in turning this kitchen into a warm, welcoming hub where food and community come together – thank you for your continued support.

Community impact

Nantyglo RFC’s new community kitchen will profoundly benefit our Senior, Junior and Mini rugby team club members, local residents and local community by becoming a central hub for nutrition, connection, and growth. We want to provide a community kitchen that will improve cooking skills, dietary quality, and reduce social isolation for both participants and families .  Having new facilities at NRFC it will allow us to improve our services and bring in new bookings ensuring future sustainability for generations to enjoy.   For our club volunteers and job-seekers, the kitchen will provide accredited training in hospitality and paid roles, boosting skills, confidence, and employability opportunities.   As a shared space, it will strengthen community bonds and improve wellbeing, serving as a warm-hub during colder months and enabling weddings, parties and other events to take place . Meanwhile, by sourcing produce and supplies locally, we will support small Blaenau Gwent businesses, contributing to the local economy and sustainability. Overall, this kitchen fosters a healthier, more inclusive, and economically resilient community—empowering residents, uniting volunteers, and enriching Nantyglo RFC’s role as a community cornerstone
