Save Nant Mill — Restore a Landmark of Wrexham’s Heritage
Nant Mill has been part of our community’s story for over 500 years. From its origins in the 15th century, to the 1832 mill building, to the visitor centre enjoyed by generations — it is a place where nature, industry and community meet.
Since closing in 2018, Nant Mill has been at risk. But now, we have a chance to bring it back to life.

A community-led future
The newly formed Nant Mill Community Trust (registered charity number 1209276), working alongside Groundwork North Wales and the wider Clywedog Valley Partnership, has secured a long lease from Wrexham Council to restore and run the site for the public.
Nant Mill is a key part of a major £1.7m project to revitalise the nine-mile Clywedog Valley linking Minera Quarry to King’s Mill.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund has invited the project to Stage 2, with a potential award of £1.25m. To unlock this funding, the Partnership must raise £460,000 in match funding towards the overall project.
Nant Mill Community Trust's part of that challenge: £40,000 for Nant Mill.
This campaign aims to raise that £40,000 — to reopen Nant Mill's doors as a visitor centre, learning space and community hub.
