Nadine's 25 for 25 Challenge

Aim

On 5th August 2023 I will be running 25km to mark my 25th birthday and raise money for Asylum Justice. Please donate what you can!

WHY ASYLUM JUSTICE?

I am raising money for Asylum Justice, the only organisation in Wales providing free specialist legal representation and advice to asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants. I am lucky enough to see first-hand the impact this fantastic charity has on people's lives and you can read all about the difference they make here. In a nut shell here are just a few reasons I chose to support them:

• Asylum Justice provide specialist support for free where someone cannot access legal aid. Without their intervention, vulnerable individuals would be left with no legal representation and very little chance of success in their asylum claim.
• In securing asylum for their clients, Asylum Justice help people stay safely in Wales and stop them being returned to unsafe situations in their home countries.
• A positive asylum decision also grants an individual the right to work - so Asylum Justice's work to secure asylum tackles poverty in asylum seekers at its root cause, and means someone can begin to rebuild an independent life and fully integrate into their new community. 
• In an evermore hostile environment, we need to show our support for refugees and people seeking asylum as loudly and proudly as we can!

WHAT IS NADINES 25 FOR 25?

On 5th August 2023, I will be running a distance of 25km (15.5 miles) to mark my 25th birthday and raise money for Asylum Justice. When I came up with this crazy idea, I could not even run 2 km, so this is definitely a challenge! A half marathon is 21 km so this is no small task. I have been training (on and off) for months now to try to achieve this - in rain, snow, wind, 25*c heat, sun and everything in between - so please do donate what you can.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THIS?

First and foremost please donate and help me reach my target of £500! Anything you can contribute towards this is massively appreciated. I'd love to even exceed it if possible so please donate whatever you can!

If providing crucial legal support, enabling asylum seekers to remain safely in Wales and addressing poverty at its root cause is something you support, please consider setting up a regular donation to Asylum Justice.
