We've been closed a year and haven't stopped looking - help us raise £8,000 to finally secure a permanent home for N3RDYS in Shrewsbury

What we're building

N3RDYS is a community gaming hub in Shrewsbury. We are a welcoming space for all people to come and enjoy board games, role-playing games, trading card games, quizzes and creative hobbies, built around one idea: everyone belongs, and everyone can play.

We're not starting from nothing. This community already existed, and it was strong, but the venue that housed it closed, worn down by a rising costs of maintaining a difficult building, flooding and rising overhead costs that outpaced what the business could carry. That closure was about a building and a balance sheet, not about the people who showed up week after week. It's now been over a year since we closed, and we've spent that year searching for the right building to finally bring this community home to.

And we haven't been standing still. Since closing, other venues across Shrewsbury have opened their doors to keep this community together. Hickory's, Medieval Madness, the Unitarian, and THE HIVE, who hosted our very first event back. Every one of them reaching out to help us get back on our feet is proof this community, and the local businesses around it, want N3RDYS back as much as we do.

What your money does

We're raising £8,000 towards the deposit and first months' rent on a new home for N3RDYS! The single biggest barrier standing between us and reopening. After a year of searching, every pound raised here goes straight towards finally securing the building itself. Once that's covered any further funds raised will be used to secure furniture and stock - turning an empty space into an amazing venue people can actually walk into and start playing.

Why it matters

We're building N3RDYS as a genuinely diverse, welcoming community - a place for people of any age or background to feel safe, at home, and free to belong. Affordable, alcohol-free social space is in short supply, and it matters even more for people who don't always feel comfortable in typical leisure venues. Giving back is part of who we are too!  Every month, alongside running the community itself, we fundraise for local and national charities. We just want to help as many people as we can reach!
