Synopses
My Treat is a short film about the painfully absurd situations that can emerge as a result of an eating disorder, the difficulties that arise in navigating relationships, and the distortion to reality that can occur when an eating disorder takes hold. It follows Sarah, who is out to dinner with her boyfriend Jack. After being berated by the chef and coerced by her boyfriend, the absurdity of the situation leaves her questioning her actions, what is real, and what has been conjured up by her mind.
The Reason
My Treat explores and draws attention to the ever-growing issue of eating disorders. We have experienced how harmful this issue can be to the people we love and how even though we might feel like we are supporting that person, we are actually drawing a wedge between them and ourselves. We want to make a film that is entertaining, provocative and shocking to really draw people's attention to this issue and provide insight into how to support the people who need help. I think most people have experienced or heard of a relative, friend or colleague who has dealt with an eating disorder, and we want to highlight both how common and overwhelming it can be.

What We Need
Our Budget is carefully devised so that we can produce a high-quality film which will best encapsulate the morals of the film. We have adopted a flat base rate for all the cast and crew involved to be paid fairly across the board. The image below outlines the budgeting breakdown for further transparency.
