Aim

Amy South is a fine artist who, in collaboration with her Dad is raising money for his cancer treatment.

We are raising £9000 to provide my Dad with alternative cancer treatment and as comfortable a living environment as possible during his palliative care, following a severely delayed stage 4 Cancer diagnosis due to restricted access to doctors and hospitals during the Coronavirus pandemic. £9000 will cover 3 months.

The Story of My Dad's Apple

Amy is raising funds in the only way she knows how,

creating artwork that is given in exchange for donation, to ensure that her Dad’s remaining time is as comfortable and pain free as possible.

This is an ‘All or Nothing’ fundraiser, so if we do not reach our target, we will not receive any of your donations.

Every donation and share is a huge help.

The artwork is deeply symbolic of their situation.

“‘Dad’s Apple’ is inspired by a small apple. It was gifted to me by my Dad this month after he had cleared away the dying trees surrounding one, now healthy apple tree. This year, it produced a single apple which, for me, is a symbol of hope, regeneration and determination in these dark and desperate times.

The apple was small, a tart green and my Dad said, ‘It might not taste very nice and if it’s black in the middle just spit it out.’ Such a modest, sincere and symbolic gift, and now that symbol is being manifested into art, and more importantly into an energetic drive. An opportunity to provide for him comfort and peace of mind, following what has been a truly horrendous 3 months of trying to access healthcare as his health rapidly deteriorated.

I feel that this apple represents our shared fight to save my Dad’s life in the same way he saved the tree. If we cannot save his life, I hope that we can at least make sure that during his final days, he is held in comfort, love and dignity.”

‘Dad’s Apple’ sculptures are given in exchange for donation, alongside paintings and prints by both Amy and Anthony. The donations will provide palliative support for Amy’s Dad during these difficult times.
