I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target
It is my 60th birthday on July 14th and I won’t be sharing it with friends or family this year, as I am in Malawi! What would really make my day is for you to donate to a project of mine which is supporting people with disabilities. Those of you that know me will know that my passion before starting the charity was teaching and supporting children with special needs. For some years now I have been planning with two friends (Beth Sheehan and Tony Williams) to provide 3 Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) units right in the heart of our area. The first for children at M’bang’ombe School where they have a Special Needs Teacher, the second at M’bang’ombe Health Clinic providing assessments and therapies and the third at Sam’s Village providing training and making and fixing devises. If you could only see through my eyes! Just in the last week I visited a single lady who has been on the floor of her hut for 7 years after having a stroke, if only she could have received therapy! Her 3 children under 18 years are looking after her. A twelve-year old boy I met has a heart defect and he has to go to South Africa for an operation. Not that he even has a passport, let alone money! He can’t do anything, so sits outside his hut. We could be providing him education at our unit! What is raised will start to build the foundation of the SEND unit at M’bang’ombe school and be the foundation of change for many children! We estimate it will cost £45,000 to build and equip in total. You can donate here with the reference ‘SEND’. My grateful thanks for your donation which will change vulnerable lives here in Malawi.
