Help 1500 young musicians from across The London Borough of Merton to perform at The Royal Albert Hall!

Change is Coming!

Step into the extraordinary sound world of Merton's young people on Monday the 11th March 2024, as they take to the stage at The Royal Albert Hall! Join us on this remarkable musical journey and play a pivotal role in making history for the young musicians of Merton. 

Every Merton child deserves The Royal Albert Hall Spotlight, we need your help to make this happen. Music is for life: Your generosity, their future.

Music is for Life: Our Aim

At this exceptional event, 1500 young musicians from across The London Borough of Merton will present a collective performance entitled ‘Change is Coming': a celebration of outstanding arts provision. We need your help to make this extraordinary event happen. Just opening the doors of this prestigious venue is a huge financial commitment for a small charity. This concert requires equipment, staffing, workshops and rehearsals. Your help will contribute to not only covering the necessary costs but ensuring that every note played and sung is a celebration of accessibility and inclusivity.

Your support is not just a contribution; it's an investment in the young people of Merton.

Why should I donate?

  • Musical Legacy: Your contribution supports the lasting impact of music on young people’s lives.
  • Inclusive Access: We aim to make this prestigious venue accessible to all Merton children. This event involves children from 22 primary, secondary and special schools from across the borough, alongside Merton Music Foundation’s various youth ensembles and community music groups. 
  • Memorable Moments: Help us create lifelong memories through this extraordinary musical experience.

How will my money be spent?

All donations no matter how small will impact this project. Merton Music Foundation thanks you for your support. 

  • £12: Could sponsor a child’s place in the massed choir
  • £20: Could provide a ticket at The Royal Albert Hall for a parent/guardian to witness their child's performance, who may have not otherwise been able to access and enjoy this event.
  • £35: Could fund an hour of tutor time, crucial for preparing young people for this performance.
  • £50: Could support the hire of additional instruments.
  • £100: Could support an afternoon of music workshops with a Merton Primary School, nurturing musical confidence and creativity, whilst preparing for the performance.
  • £500: Could illuminate the stage for our young performers, covering crew lighting costs to make their performance shine.

The first £1000 raised will be match funded by a generous private donation.

What happens is we exceed our target?

That would be amazing! Any surplus funds would be reinvested into providing music opportunities for Merton’s young people. We want to ensure that future performances at The Royal Albert Hall and similarly prestigious venues, will be as inclusive and accessible as possible. Your support goes beyond this single event; it becomes an investment in a future where music is a central point to every young person’s growth, development and well-being.
