Thanks to everyone who's entered the draw so far, we've been blown away by people's enthusiasm. We've just added a stretch goal of £5,000 - one week to go!
Twenty winners will receive one of these very special 4-track EPs - this release will be the first publicly available example of a new, bioplastic vinyl alternative developed by Evolution Music as part of their mission to decarbonise the production of physical product in the music business.
Partners and long term MDE supporters Ninja Tune and Secretly Group have donated two tracks respectively for the release to create this unique piece of music history.
The release features:
BICEP – Atlas – taken from their UK Number 2 album, ‘Isles’, which was described as "a tour de force of neon euphoria" by Resident Advisor and named as album of the year by the likes of The Observer, Billboard, NME and many more.
ANGEL OLSEN – Big Time – the title track from her recent critically acclaimed album, described by Rolling Stone as “a jaw-droppingly confident step into the spotlight.”
BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD – Bread Song – the fan favourite taken from their UK Number 3 album Ants From Up There, a standout release of 2021 with 5* reviews in The Observer, NME, The Line of Best Fit, The Independent and more, it was named ‘Critics Pick’ by the New York Times and described as “exceptional” by Pitchfork in their ‘Best New Music’ review.
PORRIDGE RADIO – Back To The Radio – the lead single from the band’s third album, Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky, described by Pitchfork as “an anthem for feeling everything, all at once, and having no idea what to do about any of it.”
Formed by a group of UK based artists and music industry professionals in London in 2019, Music Declares Emergency has now expanded to three continents and works with over 6000 declarers from all sectors and areas of the global music industry, placing music at the heart of conversation and action in relation to the climate emergency.
We bring the music industry, artists, and fans together to direct the power of music to call for a fairer, greener, planet for all. Our work encompasses support and partnership for industry innovations, curation and dissemination of effective artist messaging and collaborations cross sectors and borders.
Our slogan, ‘No Music On A Dead Planet’, has been seen by millions on screens and stages across the world and our groups across Europe and North America continue to place concern for the climate at the heart of music culture.
Prize draw funds will go to support MDE's work across the UK.
