29th June 2022Instrument Library Update - 1 week to go!
Hello everyone,
A huge thank you for all your support for the instrument libraries so far - we've got 1 week left of the campaign so here's a quick update of where we're at!
It was a great week last week - thanks to you, we raised a further £1000 for the libraries, which brings us to near £4000 in total so far. We had another 10 instrument donations from around the country too, taking the total number of instruments we have gathered for the libraries to over 100! And we got some great press coverage - last Tuesday we were on BBC Scotland's Afternoon Show, and this led to a broader feature about music education in Scotland in the Times on the weekend. So the word is getting out there!
Make Music Day was on 21st June, and there was live music going on in several libraries around the country, including our instrument libraries in Edinburgh and North Ayrshire. The Edinburgh libraries have also started cataloguing the first set of instruments, and we are hoping these will all be ready and available to the public in July.
Lastly, this is the final week of the crowdfunding campaign and we've still got a little way to go to hit our target, so if you might know anyone who would be interested, it would be great if you could pass it on and help spread the word!
