Tinderbox Collective
21st June 2022Instrument Library Update - 2 weeks to go!
Hello,
Thank you so much for all of your donations to the Music Instrument Libraries! It's been a brilliant start to the campaign - we have had 40 supporters so far and have just reached 60% of our target, plus loads of donations of musical instruments have been donated in the last couple of weeks! In fact, we have gathered near 100 instruments in total so far - which are being catalogued on the libraries systems at the moment, and we are aiming to get them into the libraries by early July.
We still have about £2000 to raise to hit our target however, with two weeks left, so if you might be up for sharing the campaign with any friends or family who might be interested, that would be great to help us push it towards the finish line!
Here are some highlights from the last couple of weeks

Press Coverage
We have had some great press coverage for the libraries and word about the libraries is getting out there! The instrument libraries project has now featured on BBC Radio 6 Craig Charles Show, West FM, the Sunday Post and Edinburgh Reporter, and we are going to be on BBC Radio Scotland's Afternoon Show today for Make Music Day, so tune in for that as well!

Hidden Door Street Band TakeOver
We got over 100 people of all ages performing together for the Street Band Takeover at Hidden Door festival on 12th June in support of the instrument libraries - it was a brilliant event and got this lovely article in the Edinburgh Reporter too.
Instrument Taster Sessions.
Tinderbox Collective have started delivering taster sessions in Craigmillar and Drumbrae libraries to give children and families a go at playing different instruments. Around 100 people have attended in total, and people were trying all sorts of instruments from guitars to cellos, trombones, flutes and other instruments, and requests are coming in for instruments already. We're planning to keep these sessions going, so once all the instruments are in the libraries people will be able to take one home straight away after they've tried it out.

Make Music Day 21st June - Live Music in Libraries
Today is Make Music Day (21st June) and we are delighted that there will be lots of live music happening in libraries around the country! BBC Radio Scotland are planning to feature the project on their Afternoon Show too, so tune in to hear more about it!
Thanks so much for supporting the campaign! :)
