Hike 5 Munros for Liam’s 30th! Adventure, laughs, and fundraising for an awesome cause – join the fun and make it epic!

• Hiking 5 Munros for Liam’s 30th Birthday

In celebration of what would have been our friend Liam’s 30th birthday, we (Sammy Sweeney and Alex Duncan) are gunna go on a BIG adventure, well 5 BIG adventures - up 5 Munros! (That's a Scottish mountain that's over 3000ft (914.4m) btw!)

Liam was a do-er, an adventurer, amazing at bringing people together and had a way of turning any simple day into a memorable time. So, in the spirit of living more like Liam, we felt this would be an great way to challenge ourselves to get out and explore more, whilst giving the opportunity for others to come together and do it with us!

We know Liam would have absolutely loved to go us on this epic trek with us and we’re sure he’d be laughing with us (at us) every step of the way and probably making us fall into some mud or throwing (literal) sh*t at us just for the fun of it!

All funds raised are to be distributed to underprivileged children identified by local schools to assist with educational opportunities. This will be done through travel and recreational activities amongst other things to improve lives for young people in and around Nairnshire.

Put together by 5 trustees; Sharon and Ken Finnerty, Reverend Steven Manders, Kim Brown and Tom Monteith and is currently in the hands of OSCR awaiting approval just now - which may take a little while longer...

Which is why our goal is to raise a strong pot of funds so they can hit the ground running as soon as their status is approved. Every contribution will ensure they're able to make a difference from the very start. 💰

(We can't be sure the weather will stick out for us, we'll aim for these dates but may have to shuffle about if it's looking dreich!)

Important Bits: 

For anyone who wishes to join us on any of the munros to remember our Liam, you are more than welcome to, but please consider some important bits before you do.

Every individual is entirely responsible for their own personal safety, navigation, equipment, transport and food. 

There are no mountain leader/designated leaders on this fundraiser and no responsibility will be held by the fundraising parties for safety during hikes for those who wish to join. Whilst we will be making best efforts to further our navigation and map reading skills in the coming weeks to ensure our own safety, we kindly ask you risk assess this yourself to determine whether you can manage your own navigation and fitness to ensure your own safety as we will not be responsible for either.

Lastly, ALL money raised will go towards the soon to be launched foundation. If for whatever reason this does not launch, it will go towards local charities with similar objectives.
