Aim
To raise as much as possible to create a full production of my play. As a large cast show, this is an ambitious and exciting adventure.
As a creative, I’m thrilled to share my original play — a story that’s deeply personal and close to my heart. As an actor, writer, and female footballer, this project means the world to me.
Being a woman in a male-dominated sport hasn’t always been easy. It’s made me admire, even more, the incredible women who paved the way for players like me. Their courage, talent, and determination inspired this play — and through it, I want to celebrate their achievements and honour their legacy.
I’ve woven my own experiences into the story, capturing the emotions, struggles, joys, and heartaches I’ve felt along the way. My hope is that audiences will leave feeling more connected to these women — and with a deeper understanding of what it means to fight for your place on and off the pitch.
The Dick, Kerr Ladies football team are legends in their own right. Looking at today’s Lionesses and WSL players, I want this play to serve as a huge thank you to the real women my characters are based on.
