Aim

The aim of the crowdfunder is to help raise money to set up a Mental Health support cafe in Hereford town for parents.

My name is Candice Reynolds and I am the founder of MUMSLOCAL. 

MUMSLOCAL is a online forum, which offers support, advice, and a triangle of social networking systems to help mothers combat stress, anxiety and isolation. 

4 years ago I became a mother for the first time and I experienced a world of emotions that I didn’t think I’d experienced all at one time.
Even though I’ve worked in Mental Health for years and on different platforms, it didn’t prepare me for motherhood.

I was very isolated after having Noah, I was  anxious about leaving the house and even talking to other people
It took me a few months to figure out that there wasn’t much support for women who have just had a child. I then started to seek friendships with women who could understand and truly empathise what being a new mother could entail, by bluntly asking if there was a new mother on Facebook who would like to meet for a coffee, I posted this on hereford online car boot and within months I had met so many different people, from all walks of life and it was a breath of fresh air to finally talk to other mothers who have experienced the same thoughts and feelings.

Over the last 4 years, MUMSLOCAL grew  rapidly, where initially I would host 1 meet up every fortnight to 2 meet ups a week and creating big family events.
Meet ups have been so successful and in demand that it’s been a struggle to accommodate every mother on particular days.
I want to change that and have my very own MUMSLOCAL Cafe in town. This will be open to the general public and small business who wish to host and hold their activity groups.

Through demand there has been a new development where my husband runs a DADSLOCAL which is the sister to MUMSLOCAL. The cafe will welcome both parents, and anyone who need support.  

The cafe, is a good size premises with parking close by and easily accessible to public transport.  The cafe will be a bright and colourful safe place  for children to play, whilst parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles can have a hot drink and something to eat. Imagine a home away from home.

There will be opportunities for jobs in Hereford, because of the cafe; which will work well for parents wanting to get back into the working environment and being able to work around school hours.
There will be opportunities to build on qualifications and training which will enhance your overall experience.
Because MUMSLOCAL is about Mental Health, there will be a signposting system for those who need it and MUMSLOCAL will work closely with other healthcare professionals to get you the right support.

I will be looking to source all food and trade locally to put money back into Hereford.  

I have set up a crowdfunder to help rise money for setting up this wonderful cafe.
I am looking at as many grants as I can, to reduce the loan I’ll need to borrow from the bank, the less I lend the more I able to reinvest in employment and local trade.
