Multicultural Cumbria are crowdfunding to raise funds for this year's Culture Bazaar event
Multicultural Cumbria are crowdfunding to raise funds to help put on this year's award winning Culture Bazaar event - a FREE community event to bring the whole community together and experience the culture and heritage of people from around the world! Multicultural Cumbria strives towards an equitable multicultural society in Cumbria that supports ethnic diversity and societal cohesion. We focus on sustaining and sharing the heritages, cultures, values, beliefs and perspectives of diaspora people that have origins from different cultural backgrounds and promote inclusion throughout the wider community.

0We are far better united - that's the message we're sending out as we once again host our award-winning annual Culture Bazaar this spring.
We can be a city united in our love of food and culture and all the things that make us proud to live in Carlisle. And we can be a city united against racism.
This free event has been celebrating and uniting the diverse communities of Carlisle and Cumbria for 18 years, attracting tens of thousands of visitors.
Distressing incidents in 2024 which saw the racist abuse of a black schoolboy and a demonstration against refugees in Carlisle highlight that Culture Bazaar is needed more than ever to show there is no place here for racism, that we stand united against it.
Our charity, Multicultural Cumbria is the answer to such division, promoting cultural understanding and integration for the whole community. We use music, art, dance and food to overcome barriers that may block people from developing a sense of unity and belonging, and help reduce isolation.
There are now more than 80 nationalities living and working in the county while more than 70 languages are spoken in our schools. We are delighted that Richard Rose Central Academy will be hosting this event. It is the most culturally diverse secondary school in Carlisle.
This year’s two-day Culture Bazaar event runs on Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4, 2025 with the theme of A City United. And we are looking for financial backing from those who share our vision.
We are looking for small donations from individuals and organisations to help create a memorable event.
Supporting this event shows you have a social conscience and shows how you believe multiculturalism should be celebrated. Any support you can give is greatly appreciated.
United together we can deliver equality and diversity. A City United is a vibrant, multicultural place to work, study, live and enjoy life.
