Mrs Hutchinson's retirement - Legacy Project

Aim

Raise money as a retirement gift for Mrs Hutchinson for her to use to fund a project of her choosing at school for the benefit of pupils.

Mrs Hutchinson has been the face of Monkspath school for nearly two decades and is retiring this summer!

As a very large school community we wanted to recognise the contribution she has made to the school and thought a wonderful way to do this would be for her to choose a project in school, funded by the donations that are raised, that would allow her to leave a lasting legacy for the benefit of current and future pupils.

Although we're sure flowers, chocolates and wine will be much appreciated, with circa 700 pupils and a huge community of past pupils and families who may wish to contribute, we felt the money that could be generated could go a long way and with a more lasting impact by creating this fund raiser.  The project chosen would entirely depend on the amount of funds raised but could be put towards a new sensory garden named after Mrs Hutchinson, a room overhaul or any other project that Mrs Hutchinson would love to see come to fruition if the money permitted.

Raising funds in this way also allows for a greater total given the ability to use the PTA's charity status and gift aid.

We aim to raise funds up to and including Sunday 18th July so that the total raised can be presented to Mrs Hutchinson at a convenient point during her last week at the school as headteacher.

This isn't a project that Mrs Hutchinson is aware of but we have sought the approval of the Deputy Head, PTA and her daughter! Hopefully it will come as a lovely surprise during the final week of her career.
