Most of us want to see more action on the climate emergency. Most of us also want to see higher quality decision making in government, leading to better public services, and a higher quality of life. 

Millions of people are increasingly tired of the self serving duplicity of many of our MPs who are often more beholden to the vested interests of those who would endanger the planet than to their constituents. There seems to be little reward for integrity in parliament and almost no price to be paid for routine dishonesty.

So up and down the country people are starting to hold their MPs to account. They are ensuring that their MP’s track record of honesty or otherwise can be clearly understood by every voter in their constituency in time for the next election. MPs we can’t trust are unfit for the job and should not be re-elected. If we can’t trust an MP to be honest on climate we can’t trust them on anything at all. And if they have been dishonest with us on anything at all, we can’t trust them on climate. 

MP Watch is an umbrella group which aims to build and support local constituency initiatives to monitor MPs’ understanding of the science and economic implications of climate breakdown, and their seriousness when it comes to action on climate. 

We are politically non-partisan, and engagements will be with politicians of every stripe who deny the urgency.

With this crowd funder, we hope to raise money to cover fares and hotel costs for visits to incubating Watch groups around the country.
